Przewalski’s horses are the last truly wild horses, once roaming across Eurasia and North America. They went extinct in the wild in the 1950s–60s due to hunting, but a small number had been brought to zoos in Europe and North America. Thanks to these zoo populations, the species has been successfully recovered and is now being reintroduced to the wild.
