The last Year of the Snake ran from January 23, 2001 to February 11, 2002. The last Year of the Water Snake took place from February 14, 1953 to February 2, 1954. The Year of Snake in the past has included some history-changing events including the Great Depression of 1929, the Pearl Harbor attack of 1941, and the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center in New York City.
