Xavier Bartaburu

Xavier Bartaburu is a Brazilian journalist, writer and photographer based in São Paulo, with more than 20 years of experience in reporting, editing and writing about social, cultural and environmental issues. He graduated in Journalism from the University of São Paulo and has a master's degree in Digital Journalism from New York University. Has written over 100 stories reporting from around 30 countries and written over 20 books on subjects ranging from environmental history to food systems and Indigenous cultural heritage. Works as an editor for Mongabay since 2019.
