Claire Asher

Claire is a freelance science writer and communicator with a PhD in biology. Her writing has appeared in New Scientist, BBC Future, Science Focus Magazine, Nature and The Scientist, among others. Her main interests are in ecology, conservation, climate and sustainability. She has written extensively for Mongabay on topics ranging from land-use change in the Brazilian Cerrado to the Planetary Boundaries.
