Joyce Bazira
Joyce Bazira is a Communication Expert with over 20 years of experience. She currently works as a researcher, editor and career coach. She has reviewed various works and authored several publications, providing home grown literature that offers a comprehensive description of the media environment in Tanzania. Her experience as a coach has led her to work with organizations such as the World Association of News Publishers (WAN- IFRA) for its Women in News Programme; Tanzania Media Foundation (TMF); Media Council of Tanzania (MCT); Gender Links in collaboration with UN Women and Tanzania`s Media Women Association (TAMWA).
In 2021, Joyce received a Woman of Achievement award for her efforts to help close the gender gaps in newsrooms. She is also a recipient of the Best Journalist of the Year award for her story that exposed a corrupt cabinet minister. Joyce holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mass Communication from St. Augustine University of Tanzania and a master’s degree in the same discipline and from the same University.
