Esther is an independent journalist based in Myanmar. She started her career in journalism in 2018. Transitioning to full-time freelance work in 2024, she specializes in human rights, women and social justice issues. Her early career was defined by extensive reporting on environmental issues in southern Myanmar, and for the past years after the coup, she has been reporting from the country’s conflict zones. Working directly on the frontlines, she provides firsthand accounts of the escalating crisis, documenting the human toll of the conflict as it unfolds on the ground. Esther currently collaborates with both national and international news outlets. A dedicated environmentalist at heart, she is passionate about protecting the natural world and is increasingly focused on deepening her work in environmental journalism.
