Erica Ayisi
Erica is a Boston based, Ghanaian-American journalist with more than eight years of reporting on underreported human feature stories in Africa, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia and the Northeast region of the United States. In 2019, Erica travelled to Cambodia to report on unethical sourcing in the human hair trade industry. She recently produced a PBS documentary on Black Whalers in Southern New England and in 2020 won a Salute to Excellence Award from the National Association of Black Journalists for her report on women in Jamaican politics. Erica also teaches high school journalism and is founder of Akosua’s Closet-an eCommerce website featuring African sourced women’s clothing, jewelry and home décor. She has a bachelors and master’s degree in Communication Arts from New York Institute of Technology.
