Alaine Johnson is a Singapore-based freelance writer and videographer with over a decade of experience living in Southeast Asia, Southern Africa, and Central America. Her research on participatory politics of organic food systems in the Philippines was published in The Journal of Rural Studies and her work has appeared on Truthout, Post Carbon Institute, Eco-Business, and Global Comment. Alaine graduated as one of Yale-NUS College's pioneering batches with a degree in Environmental Studies, and was the winner of the United Nations 75th Anniversary Essay Contest.
