Pig iron production in the states of Para and Maranhão is fueling deforestation a Brazilian newspaper reports.
Accoding to O Estado, coal-producers are illegally using wood and vegetation from the nearby rainforest to supply coal to iron-working companies in Maraba, Brazil.
