Rebeca Binda
Rebeca Binda is a Brazilian documentary photographer and journalist focusing on socio-environmental issues and climate justice. Splitting her time between Brazil and London, she brings a global perspective to local narratives, particularly the environmental impacts of mining and the stories of marginalised communities.
Her work has explored the aftermath of the Mariana (2015) and Brumadinho (2019) mining disasters, documenting long-term effects on ecosystems and local populations. Through fieldwork in areas like the Jequitinhonha Valley and Maranhão, Rebeca collaborates with communities to amplify their voices and advocate for sustainable development.
With a Master's in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography, she combines academic rigor with on-the-ground insights, creating heartfelt narratives that inform and inspire action towards systemic change.
