In the United States, the Easter Bunny and Easter eggs have been associated with the religious holiday of Easter since the 18th century. Both rabbits and eggs are commonly associated with fertility.

The pictured “bunny”, the Brush Rabbit (Sylvilagus bachmani), is widely found in coastal regions of western North America.
