Anahita Verahrami is a masters student studying conservation biology at Colorado State University and a research affiliate with the Elephant Listening Project at Cornell University. Her current research focuses on understanding how poaching is impacting forest elephant movement and behavior in the Republic of Congo. She has a special interest in engaging and partnering with local communities in respectful and equitable ways to empower these communities with the resources and opportunities they need to manage their own natural heritage and wild areas.
