Little-known animal picture of the day: salmon-bellied snake

The salmon-bellied snake (Mastigodryas melanolomus) is found in Central American forests, savannas, and even agricultural areas. It preys on lizards, frogs, and rodents.



Described as ‘very adaptable’ by the IUCN Red List the snake is listed as Least Concern.
